ALOHA HIGH SCHOOL

Aloha High School has current openings for Boys JV Lacrosse Head Coach and assistant coaches for both levels for the 2010 season.  Our program is looking for experienced coaches with the skills and motivation to help take us to the next level.  We have our largest incoming and skilled freshman class in the history of program with another large 8th grade class in the wings for the following season .

The season begins practice on February 22nd with games running through mid-May with the playoffs through May and into June.  Coaches will have the obligation and responsibilities to attend all practices and games. WILSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

Wilsonville HS has an immediate opening for Assistant Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach, JV Head and assistant coaches for the 2010 season.  We are searching for experienced coaches with the skills and desire to move our program forward and help execute the head coaches vision of the program.  We have a very solid and growing youth program that has established quality relationships with the HS program.  The program at Wilsonville HS is funded and supported by the West Linn- Wilsonville School district as part of the HS athletic program.  Please send initial inquiries to Head Coach Dave Sanford at portlanddave@me.com.  We wish to have the positions filled sometime in October.

MARIST HIGH SCHOOL

Marist Lacrosse Club is looking for an experienced Boys Lacrosse head coach with strong leadership skills for the 2010 season.

Marist High School is an Oregon 4A classification high school located in Eugene, Oregon with a strong athletic and academic tradition.  This tradition has resulted in numerous state championships, and receipt of 7 out of the last ten 4A Oregonian Cups, an award which recognizes overall school excellence in academics, activities, athletics and sportsmanship.  In the 2010/2011 academic year Marist will be moving up to the 5A classification.

The Lacrosse program will be entering its sixth season in 2010.  The program has evolved from a start-up club team to an established program with over 30 returning players.  We are looking for a head coach who can share our vision of: player development in fundamentals, on field success, and a high level of sportsmanship.  The selected coach will be expected to interact effectively with the Marist Lacrosse Club, the Marist athletic department (fields, scheduling, equipment storage, etc.), work with other Marist coaches to grow the program, and comply with Archdiocese of Portland moral and ethical standards.

The season begins practice in mid-February with games running through mid-May and, if successful, playoffs through May and into June.  During the season and post-season, the expectation is that the coach would be at all practices and games, plus dedicate enough time for effective team organization and interaction with others as noted above.  The position is paid and salary is negotiable depending on experience.

JESUIT HIGH SCHOOL

Jesuit High School has an opening for a Boy's High School JV Lacrosse Assistant position starting spring, 2010. Previous college experience and coaching experience required with a preference given to a candidate w/ a defensive background. The regular season runs Feb thru May with practices being in the evening Monday thru Friday.

Jesuit Lacrosse is going into its third season and is part of the Metro League. The program has experienced immediate success w/ the Varsity team making it to the state quarterfinals its first two seasons. The coaching staff is all east coast born & played. Over the past several years, Jesuit High School has been ranked #1 and #2 respectively as the top High School Athletic Program in the nation by Sports Illustrated.

The Sunset High School Lacrosse Club is seeking qualified coaches and assistant coaches for the 2010 men’s JV lacrosse program.

Sunset Lacrosse was established in 2003 and boasts one of the largest men’s high school programs in the state. A member of the Oregon High School Lacrosse Association, Sunset’s varsity team won the competitive Metro League Championship in 2009, and made it to the state semifinals. Managed by a board of volunteers, Sunset Lacrosse enjoys exceptional support from parents, school administration and the community. Small squad sizes and low player/coach ratios maximize player potential, while a strong belief in aggressive game scheduling keeps players challenged.

GLENCOE HIGH SCHOOL

Assistant Defensive Coordinator - Varsity
Glencoe High School Boys Lacrosse Club is accepting applications for a Varsity level Defensive Coordinator position. Collegiate playing experience is required and coaching experience will be weighed in comparison to the individual. Glencoe, along with West Linn, was one of the first lacrosse teams in the state. An established program with a strong lacrosse tradition, Glencoe looks to continue building on previous success.
The entire coaching staff returns this coming season and expanding the coaching staff as well as surrounding the players with a quality staff is a priority for continued success. The qualified coach must possess leadership and motivational skills, a passion for the game, ability to work in partnership with the other coaches in the program, and knowledge of the position and strategy. Practice times are in the evenings and should not interfere with 8-5 jobs. Availability is negotiable and flexible and the salary is very competitive.
All coaches must pass background checks conducted by the Hillsboro School System. The cost of the check will be paid by the club. US Lacrosse Membership, is also required. If not a current member, the club will pay for membership.

THURSTON HIGH SCHOOL BOYS LACROSSE

  • Thurston boys lacrosse is looking for a varsity defensive coordinator.
  • Coaching experience is a plus.
  • Playing experience and knowledge of all aspects of defensive play including individual skills, man to man, zone, man down, and clearing is a must.
  • There is a modest stipend with this position that can increase with longevity.

TUALATIN HIGH SCHOOL LACROSSE

POSITIONS:  High School Varsity Assistant Coach, Junior Varsity Head Coach, Junior Varsity Assistant Coach.

SUMMARY:  The Tualatin Lacrosse Club is a program supporting the development of players of all levels from third grade through high school. Tualatin High School is a 6A school with a strong athletic tradition that has resulted in league championships in every OSAA-sanctioned sport, including 6 State and a national championship. This year our lacrosse program will have five successful years at both the Varsity and the JV level and we anticipate continued success as we strengthen our coaching team. We enjoy outstanding support from the Tualatin High School administration and athletic office. We have a solid financial base, enthusiastic parents, as well as a supportive board of directors and over 50 experienced players.
Lacrosse is a spring sport, with practices beginning mid-February. Games run mid-March through late-May; the season may extend into June if the team makes state playoffs. Practices take place at Tualatin High School, Monday through Friday after school.
The Varsity head coach will oversee our boys program while encouraging and supporting responsible interaction from the entire coaching staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:           

  • 1 to 5 years of previous coaching experience with a commitment to sportsmanship and player development.
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for the game.
  • PCA membership by the start of the season. www.positivecoach.org
  • US Lacrosse membership and Level I training by the start of the season.  www.uslacrosse.org
  • Collegiate level playing experience is desired.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Coaches should be available for practices five nights per week starting in late February with games during the week.
  • Participate in the development of season goals and weekly practice plans.
  • Communicate with players regarding player development and motivation.
  • Participate in off-season player clinics, usually two clinics are held in the summer.
  • Communicate with youth coaches to encourage younger player development and promote player growth into high school competition.

SALARY:  These are salaried positions and pay will be commensurate with experience.

WESTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL

Wanted: Assistant Coaches

Westview High School Boys Lacrosse Club is looking for experienced Assistant Coaches with strong leadership skills for its Varsity and JV teams.

Westview HS is an Oregon 6A classification school located in Portland, Oregon, with a strong athletic and academic tradition. Westview is a member of the highly competitive Metro League.

The Westview Lacrosse program is entering its 8th season in 2010. The program is expecting 50 players this year and is following a very successful '09 season, returning 4 of its 5 leading scorers.

We are looking for coaches who have a vision of player development, on and off the field success, and a high level of sportsmanship. Our Club has a strong Board of Directors. The coaches' main responsibilities are coaching; most interactions with the school and THPRD will be handled by the BOD.

A qualified coach must possess leadership and motivational skills, a knowledge and passion for the game, and an ability to work in partnership with other coaches.

The Westview Lacrosse Club is a program supporting the development of players of all levels, from first grade through high school. We have a solid financial base, enthusiastic and supportive parents, a knowledgeable Board of Directors and over 50 eager players.

The regular season begins in mid February with games scheduled through mid-May and playoffs into early June. Coaches are expected at all practices (5 evenings/week) and all games, plus dedicate enough time for effective team organization and interaction with others as noted above.

All coaches must pass a background check conducted by the Beaverton School District and Tualitin Hills Park and Recreation District.
