2014 OHSLA Cascade Cup Final Recap

#2 Seed Sisters vs #1 Seed Wilson

First Quarter

Wilson stormed out to an early 3-0 lead, but Sisters came back with 2 unanswered goals to get the game to 3-2.  Then the Wilson scored again and the teams exchanged goals with the quarter ending 5-3 Wilson.

Second Quarter

The 2nd quarter started slowly with no goals until Sisters scored their 4th with a little under 6min left in the half.  Then Wilson scored one possession later, the teams then exchanged goals to make the score 7-5, but Wilson closed out the half with two unanswered goals. So the first half ended with Wilson holding a 9-5 lead.

Third Quarter

The third quarter was slow on the scoring side as teams missed chances and goalies made saves.  Wilson scored a little over a minute into the quarter, but then there were no goals for nearly 10min.  Wilson managed to score with a little over a minute left in the quarter to expand their lead to 11-5 with one quarter remaining.

Fourth Quarter

Aided by some untimely penalties on Wilson, Sisters mounted a comeback in the final quarter scoring 3 unanswered goals to bring the score to 11-8.  Wilson then stopped the run to make it 12-8, Sisters was only able to score one more goal and Wilson took home the first annual Cascade Cup 12-9.  Sisters outshot Wilson 46-26, but Wilson Goalie Eddie Erickson proved to be the difference with a whopping 25 saves in the game.
