Metro Tournament Brackets Released
Updated May 14th, 2021
The Metro area tournament brackets have been released.
The Metro tourney was created this year to schedule competitive games for more than a quarter of the teams within the state
based on LaxNumber rankings.
There is no state wide tournament b/c travel restrictions due to Covid has limited travel for many districts.
By scheduling a full load for four remaining days in the season, the OHSLA board hopes that other teams in the state will be
able to schedule games with teams at their same competitive level (and within their travel restrictions) on the non-Metro tourney days
more easily.
The sixteen teams in the Metro Tourney are all listed below.
Note that, because the tournament includes the first three teams in each Metro conference, the tournament seeding
is not quite the same after the first 10 or 12 spots ax the
Metro LaxNumbers ranking
(https://laxnumbers.com/ratings.php?y=2021&v=3444).
- Century(#16) @Jesuit(#1)
- Glencoe(#15) @Lakeridge(#2)
- Liberty(#14) @Sunset(#3)
- Tualatin(#13) @West Linn(#4)
- Hood River(#12) @Lake Oswego(#5)
- Aloha(#11) @Grant(#6)
- Central Catholic(#10) @Sherwood(#7)
- OES(#9) @Tigard(#8)
The above Varsity games have been added to the schedule.
May 14th Update:
Host coaches are requested to schedule their JV games ASAP, and/or submit a GCR to correct game locations or times.
Despite a shortage of Officials, a best effort will be made to get officials for those double header JV games, but some
may still have to be on a different day.
Note:
Because the OHSLA Content manager is traveling today, cool looking visual brackets will not be online until sometime tonight.
